Witness Statements

Our vast knowledge of surveillance and witness statements utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and legal compliance have resulted in many “take nothing” verdicts or applicants dropping their claims. At trial, two-thirds of the jury will be more receptive to evidence presented in a visual format rather than evidence presented verbally. When preparing any case for trial, using demonstrative evidence to tell a story often makes the difference between success and failure.

On one particular case involving a mother and child who were hit and killed in a crosswalk by a hit and run suspect, Thornton Investigative Services was retained by city attorney’s office to obtain witness statements and take photographs from the accident scene. Through our investigative techniques and our years of experience, we located several additional witnesses while taking statements from the provided list of witnesses. These individuals were reluctant to come forward at the scene of the accident in fear of deportation. We were able to locate these additional witnesses, take their statements, as their testimony was essential in providing a “take nothing” verdict in a civil case against a city.
